Making Choices ...
"You are the product of the choices you make..."
Wayne Dyer

"Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of CHOICE;
it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved."
William Jennings Bryan (1860 ~1925)

Life is all about choices. We create our life with our thoughts and the choices we make. Each choice leads to a consequence. We create our own possibilites. We are making choices all the time; so we have to learn to be careful and make responsible decisions - since they will be affecting our lives in a negative or positive way. We have to learn to act in a responsible manner if we want our lives to be better and more fulfilling. If we act irresponsibly, we will pay the consequences. We are responsible for what happens to us!

So how do we make the right choices? How do we know if the choices we made are the right ones for us? Well, it is a matter of trial and error; but in general, just follow your heart and do what sounds right to YOU. Yes sometimes we will make mistakes  - but if we remain positive and believe in ourselves, and try to relax, we will learn from them. Maybe the next time we will make better decisions, just think carefully and try to be happy with the choices you made - no matter what! Don't complicate your life so much and drive yourself crazy wondering if this choice or that choice was the right one. We have so many options today and there are so many things to choose from - that sometimes we spend too much energy deciding what's best for us or what we really want. Try as best as you can to simplify your life. Get rid of your fears - fear paralyzes us and stops us from going after our goals! And remember that when we keep our attention in what we don't want, that's what keeps happening...

Alexandra Stoddard writes in her book "Making Choices": "You have to be really tough-minded to make choices. The great mystery about choice is that because you will NEVER be able to please everyone, nor even be understood by them, the only hope is for you to feel content about what you decide to do."

So, do what you believe in your heart is the best for you, what you feel confident in doing and what you feel is the right thing. Consider other people's feelings and reactions and the consequences that your choices will have, but try to make them understand that your decisions were carefully thought-of and that you will appreciate their support.

Simplify your life, so you don't feel overwhelmed by chores, work, responsibilities, relationships, etc. Eliminate unnecessary things and obligations and find time for yourself. Pursue your goals and dreams and look forward to the future with enthusiasm and optimism. Life can be an adventure if you make the right choices and become a positive thinker. Just do your best and listen to your heart.

Les Brown has also written some great books, check "Live Your Dreams" and "It's Not Over Until You Win". He writes: "Learn from your failures and don't allow them to discourage you. Failure is not final. It is not real unless you make it real. The only reality is how you respond to it, whether it makes you better or bitter."

"Life is a journey ... not a destination." (Susan L. Taylor wrote a beautiful chapter in her book "In the Spirit" with this title - a phrase she saw in a poster once). Think about it ... life is a journey
and you have the power to make it a wonderful journey if you learn to become a positive person; if you stay focused on your goals and dreams and always believe in yourself and your potential; if you learn from your mistakes and make the commitment not to make the same mistakes over and over again.

We all have the ability and the freedom to make choices... make the right ones!

Our choices affect our self-esteem!

Only we can decide what is best for us...

So... CHOOSE to be aware! CHOOSE to be thankful! CHOOSE to be happy!

And... live your best life!
You can do it!

"Life is a journey... In the end, each of us will be judged by our standard of life, not by our standard of living' by our measure of giving, not by our measure of wealth; and by our simple goodness, not by our seeming greatness."

As you travel through life there are always those times
when decisions just have to be made
when the choices are hard and solutions seem scarce
and the rain seems to soak your parade!

There are some situations where all you can do
is to simply let go and move on,
gather courage together and choose a direction
that carries you toward a new dawn.

So pack up your troubles and take a step forward.
The process of change can be tough.
But think about all the excitement ahead,
if you can be stalwart enough!

There could be adventures you never imagined
just waiting around the next bend
and wishes and dreams just about to come true
in ways you can't yet comprehend!

Perhaps you'll find friendships that spring from new interests,
as you challenge your status quo
and learn there are so many options in life,
and so many ways you can grow!

Perhaps you'll go places you never expected
and see things that you've never seen -
or travel to fabulous, faraway worlds
and wonderful spots in between!

Perhaps you'll find warmth, affection and caring,
a "somebody special" - who's there
to help you stay centered and listen with interest
to stories and feelings you share.

Perhaps you'll find comfort in knowing your friends
are supportive of all that you do
and believe that whatever decisions you make,
they'll be the right choices for you!

So keep putting one foot in front of the other
and taking your life day by day.
There's a brighter tomorrow that's just down the road.
Don't look back, you're not going that way!
